Tryouts for the 2010-2011 season have been completed. We are in the process of reviewing the tryout results.
It is our desire to maximize the number of players on each team in order to minimize costs for each family in the program. As such we will reach out in the next few days to all PYH families who have not registered with PYH for the upcoming season to try to fill roster spots with Peabody kids. Failing that, we will begin contacting surrounding communities to see if there are situations where they have an excess of skaters at a particular level who could/would fill Peabody roster spots.
When we reach 15 players we will close registration for 2010 unless we receive enough interest to form a second team at any level.
We will also be reaching out to all Mite Instructional age players from last year’s Learn-to-Skate and Mite Instructional programs in order to determine whether or not there is enough interest for a second Mite Instructional team next season. It is our intention to roster that team (or teams) as best we can prior to next September so that we know how many additional spots we have for newer program members in the Fall.
We will be placing a Midget level team in the Valley League again in 2010. The team will play a half season schedule beginning in September and ending at or near Thanksgiving. We will be reaching out to eligible players to fill that roster before September as well.
Equipment:
Gary Anderson will be contacting each of the Head Coaches from the past season in order to collect shirts, water bottles, pucks, etc. for use next season.
We will be contacting each PYH family asking them to register for the 2010-2011 season on the PYH Website. Some of the information that was provided at registration before tryouts began will have to be repeated. We apologize for that. However, additional information not already collected will be requested as well.
In order to register on line on the PYH site, you will need to already have a USA Hockey registration number. Similar to last season, players and coaches must register with USA Hockey on their own (paying a fee directly to USA Hockey). Unlike last season however, you will not be required/requested to print out a bar coded copy of the registration and submit it to the league. You will simply take the number provided and key it into the applicable field in the PYH registration pages on the website. More to come on this subject and the website in general shortly.
League Costs:
We are currently comparing costs for the 2010-2011 season among the following program offerings:
Valley League 42 Game Schedule
Valley League 30 Game Schedule
FMC 27 Game Schedule
North Suburban Hockey League 30 Game Schedule
There are Pro’s and Con’s to each option outside of cost. We’ll supply as much detail as we can as quickly as possible.
